Turned professional in 2006 after finishing runner-up to Frenchman Julien Guerrier in The Amateur Championship at Royal St George’s.
Had earlier in the year become the first Englishman since Nick Dougherty in 2001 to win the prestigious Lake Macquerie Amateur Championship in Australia and his other amateur victories included The Berkshire Trophy in 2005.
Represented England from 2004 until turning professional in 2006.
Attended the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, from 1999-2002.
Finished an impressive joint fourth in The 2007 Russian Open Golf Championship in only his second start on The European Tour International Schedule.
